How to remain calm despite what’s going to happen…

Headlines up, headlines down. One day the market is booming, the next day it's doomed. If you're buying or selling, it's enough to make anyone nervous.

So, how do you stay calm? Here's what years in this business have taught me.

Remember who sets the price. It's you, the buyer. A home is worth what someone is actually willing to pay for it. Negotiate. Don't let a frenzy push you into paying more than a home is worth to you.

Don't get swept into every bidding war. Sometimes "highest and best" is a real race. Sometimes it's just noise. Know your number and stick to it.

Look at real life, not just headlines. Are people around you working, moving in, fixing up their homes? That tells you more than any breaking news banner.

If you're struggling, don't just walk away. Talk to someone first. There are often more options than you think, and a calm conversation beats a panicked decision every time.

Work with people who do this full time. Someone who knows the market, its quirks and its moods, and will tell you the truth even when it's not what you want to hear.

As for me? I'm Italian. I drink espresso to stay calm before I pick up the phone to negotiate for my clients. It works every time.
