We're not the only ones who think so. USA Today's 10Best readers once voted on the best places in the country to watch a sunset, and Clearwater Beach topped the list, ahead of some very famous beaches. We were thrilled, but honestly, not surprised.
Here's the thing about a Clearwater sunset: it never gets old. You'd think after years of living here we'd stop pulling over to take pictures. We don't. The sky goes orange, then pink, then a purple that doesn't look real, and the whole beach goes quiet for a second, like everyone agreed to pause at the same time.
So here's our advice. Wiggle your toes in the sand on Clearwater Beach, find a spot by the water, and put your phone down for at least part of it (okay, take one picture). Bring someone you love, or someone you'd like to.
